Born in the Flanders region of Belgium, the land of exceptional cycling, VAN RYSEL draws inspiration from the legendary biking routes that have forged champions over the years. From the ruthless cobblestones of Roubaix to the iconic climbs of Belgian Flanders… Our training grounds are some of the toughest out there.
The new RACER autumn/winter collection has been designed to take on these challenges. Each product in this collection is an invitation to push your limits, giving you a reliable layer of warmth and protection against the trying elements of the Flemish winter.
In this 2.4-kilometre cobbled stretch, each pedal stroke is a test of cyclists’ strength and resilience. The legendary Trouée d’Arenberg is the first major challenge.
The RACER women’s cycling shorts guarantee support and freedom of movement. Ideal for rides in temperatures from 4 to 15°C, its Performance layer offers a precise fit and protection for the pelvis. Long-lasting comfort for up to 7 hours thanks to high-density foam.
In the middle of the route, Mons-en-Pévèle presents riders with 3 km of muddy cobblestones and often marks a turning point in the race.
Here is where the new RCR LS JERSEY Unisex comes into play. This jersey offers effective protection against the cold with its fleece lining. It has three standard pockets and a zipped phone pocket. Its vents in the back and under the arms guarantee good breathability during intense efforts.
Just a few kilometres from the finish line, the Carrefour de l’Arbre is the final theatre for riders’ battles against the course. Its uneven cobblestones and biting wind push cyclists to their limits as they round the final corners.
To overcome this brutal challenge, the long and short RACER men’s cycling shorts give cyclists the choice between the comfort and warmth of long cycling shorts, perfect for resisting the effects of the cold, and the maximum performance of shorter cycling shorts, which keeps them light whilst also at a comfortable temperature.
It all starts in the Belgian Ardennes with the renowned climb of the Côte de la Redoute. Two uphill kilometres, strewn with inclines of up to 20%, really put cyclists’ strength and determination to the test, making it an unavoidable rite of passage for riders.
The RACER 2 jacket is perfect for riding in temperatures between 6 °C and 15 °C, combining a lightweight design with great breathability thanks to its windproof and water-repellent membrane, further enhanced by breathable zones under the arms and in the back. The RCR XTRM version has been designed to take on temperatures as low as -5 °C, using NIRTA RICE material for insulation and featuring a MATRIX inner gilet to deliver maximum protection.
Next, it’s time to head for Flanders, where Koppenberg awaits the hardiest riders. Its slippery cobblestones, combined with a dizzying incline of 22%, make it one of the most infamous climbs in Belgium.
The RACER Winter women’s jacket features a fleece lining and a water-repellent and windproof exterior layer, meaning that it gives cyclists optimal protection against these extreme conditions.
Lastly, there’s the Paterberg: cyclists aren’t to be fooled by its short length, as this ruthless stretch presents them with a 20% incline on uneven cobblestones.
In winter conditions, the RACER XTREM Winter cycling shorts are the perfect choice, protecting cyclists from temperatures as cold as -3 °C whilst also offering maximum flexibility at movement points for unrivalled comfort.
